Agribusiness: three out of four are being modernised
The best figures come from the largest companies, which focus partly on overseas markets and know how to invest in technological innovation. Veneto stands out in the first-half results
The very latest available figures are positive. They confirm that businesses in the north-east’s agri-food sector are continuing to perform well. An analysis by Community Media Research for Crédit Agricole FriulAdria identifies innovation as a key factor in achieving positive performance. Three out of four companies – 70 per cent – have implemented some form of innovation over the last three years. Only 29 per cent have stood still. And those that have failed to adapt have done so because they are small in size. In short, the figures demonstrate a correlation between small businesses that are unable to tap into the global markets crucial for growth and those that remain on the sidelines.
