The Crédit Agricole and Cmr ‘monitor’: Friuli will benefit from domestic demand
Pordenone – 2017 is shaping up to be a year of moderate optimism for businesses operating in the agri-food industry in Veneto and Friuli. Growth is expected to be less pronounced than that recorded in the second half of 2016, but the outlook remains positive. Compared with their counterparts in Veneto, businesses in Friuli-Venezia Giulia are disadvantaged by being less responsive, having a smaller average size and, above all, a lower level of exposure to foreign markets (55.8 per cent for businesses in Veneto, 47.2 per cent for those in Friuli-Venezia Giulia). These are the findings that emerge from the survey conducted by Crédit Agricole and Community Media Research on the agri-food industry in Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Carried out in two phases (in July 2016 with a sample of 557 companies; and in January–February 2017, with a sample of 591), the survey covered businesses operating in various sectors.
