Agri-industry: Friuli-Venezia Giulia is leading the way in innovation

However, companies’ turnover in the first six months is down by 3 per cent

TRIESTE Over the last three years, 70.1 per cent of agro-industrial firms have implemented some form of innovation, whether in processes or products; in the first six months of 2016, compared with the same period in 2014, turnover fell by 12.4 per cent (in Veneto) and a fall of 3.9 per cent (in Friuli Venezia Giulia); the sector is looking to foreign markets and expects growth in the second half of 2016 (more markedly in Veneto at 30.7 per cent compared with Friuli Venezia Giulia at 11.6 per cent). This is the profile of the agri-food industry as captured by the survey carried out by Community Media Research and sponsored by Crédit Agricole FriulAdria, focusing on businesses in Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The figures, released yesterday, show that the best-performing businesses are those that are better structured and more internationalised.
