Saturday’s ‘Open System’ meeting: Confindustria Padova, Treviso and Vicenza put themselves forward as pilot sites
PADUA “If there aren’t at least 2,000 business owners there on Saturday, it will be a failure.” So said Massimo Finco, speaking via live video link from Hanover, at the preview of the conference on Saturday 19 November. This marks the launch of the ‘Open System’ initiative by the Confindustria associations of Vicenza, Padua and Treviso, to be held on neutral ground: in Marghera. On the agenda is a concrete proposal for the renewal of industrial relations and a new step towards representation without borders. An opportunity that will be put to the test in real time, as attendance estimates appear to be lower than the 2,000 anticipated by Finco. The ‘Open System’, signed just two years ago in Padua, has won over around 10 per cent of members – a total of 6,000 across the three regional associations. These figures reflect the actual movement of entrepreneurs from one province to another to benefit from the best Schengen-style service. ‘The true value of the “Open System” – explains Maria Cristina Piovesana, president of Unindustria Treviso – is to move beyond the provincial association model, giving businesses the freedom to choose.’
