Workers more involved in the company
Between meetings and teamwork, blue-collar workers have more say in decision-making
They take part in “regular meetings with management”; they use “high-tech tools”; they work “in teams, developing a range of skills”; and, when necessary, “they also make decisions independently”.
Not only that: ‘job security’ (such as that in the public sector) or ‘tenure’ are no longer ‘dogmas’ amongst ‘blue-collar’ workers, particularly young people with medium-to-high educational qualifications: the concept of a ‘permanent job’ is being replaced by a preference for ‘career development and vocational training’.
