The agri-food industry is growing through exports and innovation

Margins have fallen, but prices remain stable

The agri-food industry in the North-East – which has one of its centres of excellence in Verona – ended the first half of 2016 on a positive note. This is due to a slight recovery in domestic demand, although well-established and globalised companies are performing better, thanks to the contribution of exports. To analyse one of the key sectors of ‘Made in Italy’, CMR, Community Media Research and Crédit Agricole FriulAdria have launched the Monitor on the agri-food industry in Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The survey, led by Daniele Marini, scientific director of CMR, who attended the meeting, was conducted in July. A total of 557 companies were interviewed, operating in the meat and fish processing, fruit and vegetable, beverages, oils and fats, dairy, cereals, bakery products, animal feed and other sectors.
