Smartphones and social media are a match made in heaven (but only after the age of 60)

Digital natives are the most critical of the abuses and dangers of new technologies. The elderly, on the other hand, are the most enthusiastic: “They improve our lives.”

Ours is a highly ‘permeable’ society, as well as a ‘liquid’ one, to use the well-known concept introduced by Bauman. It is permeable because the use (and sometimes the abuse) of new communication tools transcends the boundaries of the spheres of life, penetrating them and making them more fluid.
