The fourth survey of the Mol– Monitor sul Lavoro carried out by Community Media Research for Federmeccanica changes the point of view and focuses on the perceptions of welfare beneficiaries. It does so by considering a representative sample of all employees and of the various sectors excluding agriculture, adding a focus on the engineering industry. And here is immediately a thought-provoking fact: workers seem to be well informed about what the company does in terms of welfare, but they are little convinced of its significance although there is a correlation between welfare and productivity. In fact, if they are asked whether they would prefer to receive a possible increase in their pay packet or in the form of benefits, they have little doubt: 1’8196 of them (with no particular differences between sectors) would like it in salary and only11996 would like to invest it in services or products. Reasons Two reasons. Less than half of the workers are aware of the tax advantages and many complain about the standardisation of supply. I175% would prefer money and not the consideration, albeit more taxed.According to the data, the initiatives are decided directly by the company in 57.7% (i14996 in the metal sector), with the workers in 1796 of the cases (25.2% in the metal sector) and with the trade union in a quarter of the cases \"We need to intervene on information and training on these issues, otherwise we risk depowering the welfare instrument,\" comments Daniele Marini, professor at the University of Padua and scientific director of Community Media Research.<\/p>\n
