The aim is to have collective agreements that are increasingly linked to the local area and individual companies, so that Confindustria is more closely connected at regional level. \u201cThe time is ripe to extend company-level collective bargaining in our region to at least 60 per cent of industrial workers, and this will be the most effective measure for social justice in our area,\u201d say in unison Massimo Finco (Padua), Maria Cristina Piovesana (Treviso) and Luciano Vescovi, who heads Confindustria Vicenza, at the joint assembly in Marghera (Venice) attended by around 2,000 participants. The challenge facing this first joint meeting of the three organisations is clear: \u201cVeneto has the right characteristics to trial a new collective bargaining model, thereby contributing to national reform.\u201d This will be achieved by opening up to the trade unions somewhat along German lines (close dialogue but without allowing the organisations to sit on the board of directors) and building on a finding highlighted by sociologist Daniele Marini\u2019s research: over 60 per cent of workers are ready to become entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
