The survey is clear: \u201cA feeling of hostility towards migrants is spreading and on the rise,\u201d summarises sociologist Daniele Marini. However, he also observes another equally tangible phenomenon, and he backs this up with figures too: there is a widespread lack of understanding of the reality of immigration in Italy, and this \u201cinfluences opinions and attitudes\u201d. And the summary of the latest survey by Community Media Research (in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo \u2013 Cassa Risparmio Veneto), led by the Vicenza-based sociologist and focusing on \u201chow much the perceptions of people in the north-east have changed towards immigrants and what their views are on the hypothetical law on the integration of migrants\u2019 children\u201d.<\/p>\n
